Freeze Frame: Dog Parkour and Photography
Unleash your creativity and your canine’s agility in this 5-week course that blends the art of photography with the fun of dog parkour. Parkour is making use of the natural environment and urban obstacles for the dog to climb, balance, and jump.
No prior experience is required; you can be new to parkour, photography, or both.
Each week alternates between indoor instruction and outdoor action:
- Week 1, 3, 5: Learn the fundamentals of manual photography—shutter speed, aperture, ISO, and composition—tailored to capturing fast-moving subjects in natural light. Learn the basic principles of Dog Parkour.
- Week 2 & 4: Head to the park with the dogs to photograph leaps, climbs, and balance tricks using urban obstacles and natural terrain, photographing your dog and other dogs.
Whether you’re a seasoned shutterbug or just learning to adjust your settings, this class will help you develop your technical eye and timing instincts. Each photo review session includes group critique, tips for improvement, further photography knowledge and inspiration for your next shoot.
Requirements:
- A camera with manual settings (DSLR, mirrorless, or advanced compact)
- Or a smartphone with a “Pro” mode that allows manual control of exposure
- A dog physically able to perform basic parkour moves like paws up, over/under, balance, etc.
